BRANDING vs MARKETING

The below outlines my thoughts in an easy to read comparison. Of course, we understand there are many factors that contribute to both branding and marketing, not least, we would need to understand the specific needs of your business to know what is relevant to you & your business. So that’s a conversation we would have with you when we meet.

Branding is the ‘why’.
Marketing is the ‘how’.

Branding is for the long-term.
Marketing is for the short-term.

Branding builds loyalty.
Marketing delivers response.

Branding defines the goal.
Marketing defines the tactics reach the goal.

Branding drives your reputation.
Marketing drives your sales.

Branding is the reason someone buys from you.
Marketing is the trigger to why someone chose to buy from you.

Branding creates perceived value.
Marketing uses values.

Branding is who you are.
Marketing is what you do.
